Maharaj Movie Review 2024:- Junaid Khan’s debut film Maharaj created an idea for the controversy surrounding its launch. Despite the delay in its streaming debut, the film was well received by the audience. The actor says that the makers should not hurt anyone’s sentiments in any way.
He advised Hindustan Times, “I definitely didn’t feel that way when I heard the script and during my discussions with Siddharth (Malhotra; director) sir and (producer) Aditya Chopra sir. The film celebrates a community that was right one hundred and seventy years ago when such things (gender inequality, exploitation of women, religious superstition) were rampant. I think as more and more people are seeing the film, they are seeing it for what it was intended to be.

Maharaj’s debut faced an initial setback when the Gujarat High Court intervened over issues raised by members of the Vaishnava Pushtimargi sect over its depiction of secular beliefs. However, the High Court later lifted the stay, allowing the film to launch on Netflix on June 21. The court concluded that contrary to allegations, the film should not have focused exclusively on sect.
Reflecting on the mind-numbing period of uncertainty surrounding the film’s launch, the 31-year-old son of actor Aamir Khan said, “We were all a little on edge when the film was stalled. As a team, We expected a positive response at the media and industry screenings held a day before the intended release. I am grateful to the judiciary for allowing the film to be screened and released.

Junaid expressed his need for individuals who were initially apprehensive about offending their non-secular beliefs by watching the film, “Positive word of mouth and reviews are already doing that (sending a message). I hope That everyone will watch the film and what is the intention behind the film,” he said.
Maharaj was launched on June 14, 2024, causing an uproar across the country and in the past. The audience is liking the film a lot. Maharaj, directed by Siddharth P Malhotra, is making waves on OTT and is trending in primaries in India. It has also been instrumental in securing its place in the top-10 in 22 different international locations.

In this film, Junaid plays the role of 19th century social reformer Karsandas Mulji. Jaideep Ahlawat portrays Jadunath Maharaj, Shalini Pandey portrays Kishori, while Sharwari Wagh portrays the throne.
The film has impressed the audience with its story and social message. This shows that places of worship and faith are good for individuals, as an alternative to worshiping individuals who declare themselves to be God, we should always focus on the divine. It also means that we should not always blindly follow traditions.
