‘Kalki 2898 AD’ trailer is out

This post-apocalyptic film takes its setting in 2898 AD from Hindu scriptures. While Amitabh Bachchan plays the immortal Ashwatthama, Prabhas plays Bhairava, an incarnation of the Hindu god Vishnu.

The trailer does a great job of introducing us to the fascinating universe of Bhairava. The story begins with the children learning about cash. The trailer gradually unravels the eternal power struggle and the constant mistreatment of the underprivileged. And yet, a power that has existed for six thousand years is a sign of return. Bhairava steps in, boasting that he has “never lost a fight till date”. But this fight will not be simple; The trailer ends with a look at the fearsome villain (Kamal) that he has to overcome.

‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is expected to be one of the most expensive and ambitious productions in India, with a budget of around $75 million.

Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani in lead roles, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is produced by Vyjayanthi Movies and directed by Nag Ashwin. On June 27, 2024, theaters will welcome this mythological sci-fi movie set in the future.

Director Nag Ashwin recently addressed the religious stance of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ in an interview, addressing the polarized atmosphere of the present and explaining why this element is not a problem for him. “The film does not feature any characters that many Hindus actively worship,” Ashwin said in an interview with Deadline.
