Civil War Movie Review 2024:- A civil conflict engulfs the United States of America. An authoritarian federal authority, led by a third-term president, is grappling with separatist actions. Despite the president’s claim that victory was imminent, it was widely speculated that Washington, DC could be approached by the “Western Forces” (WF) led by Texas and California.
After surviving a suicide bombing in New York City, distraught veteran war photographer Lee Smith and journalist colleague Joel meet with their mentor Sammy to share their plan to interview the remote president. Trying to stop them from heading for the capital, Sammy joins them to get to the frontline at Charlottesville, Virginia. The next morning, Lee learns that Joel has allowed Jesse Klein, a young photojournalist whom Lee encountered during the bombing, to capture them.

After leaving town, the group stops at a gasoline station guarded by armed men. Jessie explores a nearby automobile wash, where she finds boys torturing two alleged robbers. One of the guards follows Jesse, though Lee cuts the scene short by taking a photo of the man posing with his victims. Later, Jessie hurts herself for being too scared to take pictures.
After one day’s fighting ceases, group paperwork fights the next as separatist militiamen skillfully attack a loyalist-subordinate construction. Lee recognizes Jesse’s potential as a conflict photographer and begins mentoring him, while Jesse takes photographs of separatists executing prisoners. The group spends the night in a refugee camp before passing through a small town, under vigilant guard, as the residents try to live in blissful ignorance of the conflict.

Later, they get caught up in a sniper battle in the middle of a Christmas Eve stay. Nearby snipers scoff at Joel’s question about which side they’re fighting for or towards, speculating the scenario of killing attempts to kill them as an alternative. Jessie’s nerves and powers of imagery grow as she becomes increasingly desensitized to violence. Jesse asks if Lee is going to kill Jesse, to which Lee replies yes.
While driving, the 4 encounter two foreign journalists they know, Tony and Bohai. Tony and Jesse swap automobiles before Bohai drives off with Jesse in his automobile. Others catch on as they find the couple held at gunpoint by unidentified uniformed militiamen who are burying civilians in a mass grave. Sammy stays behind as a three way opposite target to barter his launch, however the militia chief executes Bohai and Tony each for not being “American”. The others are saved by Sammy when he drives the group’s truck into the militia members, although he is mortally wounded in doing so.

In shock, the remaining three arrive at the Charlottesville WF base and discover that many of the remaining Loyalists have surrendered, leaving Washington, D.C. a radical remnant of the armed forces and Secret Service. Joel drunkenly rants about what he considers Sammy’s death pointless, while Lee tries to comfort Jessie that Sammy would rather die on the job. Lee finds himself unable to find Sammy dead, quickly deleting a photo he took of her body.
The trio align themselves with the WF as they attack DC, a place where Jessie repeatedly endangers herself by fighting to take pictures, while Lee struggles with battle fatigue. When the WF breach the White House’s fortified perimeter, the presidential limousine escapes but is soon intercepted and its owner killed. Considering this a distraction, the trio moves in with 5 WF soldiers as a replacement.

Although moving on to the largely abandoned construction, a botched attempt by the few remaining Secret Service brokers nevertheless turns into a shootout, prompting the President to give up and make safe passage. Jessie steps on the road to the fireplace while taking pictures, capturing Lee dying as she pushes Jessie to safety.
Jesse continues emotionally in the Oval Office, watching soldiers drag the president from under his desk and gather to execute him summarily. Joel interrupts them briefly to get a quote from the president, who replies, “Don’t let them kill me.” Satisfied, Joel stops delaying the soldiers, while Jesse snaps pictures of the WF soldiers with the president’s body.
