  1. Iran Develops Its Most Powerful Supercomputer “Simorgh”
  • Iran has unveiling a new supercomputer named ‘Simorgh’, which is 100 times more powerful than previous supercomputers of the country so far.
  • The supercomputer has been developed indigenously by Tehran’s Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT).
  • It has been named after a mythical Phoenix-like bird ‘Simurgh’.
  • At the present time, the performance of Simorg is 0.56 petaflops, although the country claims this capability to reach one petaflop in two months.
  • The supercomputer will be used for artificial intelligence workloads, traffic and weather data, and image processing.

  1. India’s First Agriculture Export Facilitation Centre Launched in Pune
  • India’s first agri-export facilitation center in Pune has been launched by the Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (MCCIA) in collaboration with the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD).
  • The new Facilitation Centre will work as a one-stop-centre for the exporters in the agricultural sector as well as boost agricultural exports from the region, as per global standards.
  • The Center, through its experts, will guide potential exporters on different relevant aspects of the ‘farm-to-fork’ series of agri-exports.
  • It would organize awareness programs, training programs and workshops on the related aspects, organise visits to export houses for getting practical guidance, organise buyer-seller meetings etc.
  1. Manipur CM N Biren Singh Launches ‘MOMA Market’ for Home Delivery of Fresh Vegetables
  • In Manipur, Chief Minister, N Biren Singh launched a mobile application called ‘Moma Market’ for home delivery of fresh vegetables for day-to-day consumption, amidst this epidemic of COVID.
  • Currently the application can be downloaded from www.momamarket.com and will be available on Google Play Store soon.
  • The application has been introduced by Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA), Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Manipur.
  • The initiative will help to prevent vegetable losses and curb the distress sales of farm produces during lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic.
