- 17th edition of Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF-2022)
- The 17th edition of the Mumbai International Film Festival for Documentary, Short Fiction and Animation Films (MIFF-2022) is scheduled to take place from May 29 to June 4, 2022.
- Those films which were completed between September 01, 2019 to December 31, 2021 are eligible for admission to MIFF-2022.
- The event is organized by the Films Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting with support from the Government of Maharashtra since 1990, and focuses on documentary, short fiction and animation films.
- It is the oldest and largest festival of non-feature films in South Asia.
- Government set target to replace Diesel with Renewable Energy in agricultural sector by 2024
- The Union Minister of Energy, New and Renewable Energy, RK Singh has informed that the government plans to replace diesel with a renewable source of energy to achieve the target of zero diesel usage in the agriculture sector by 2024.
- The initiative is a part of the government’s commitment to increase the share of non-fossil fuels by 2030 and become net zero emitters by 2070.
- Centre approves continuation of Modernization of State Police Forces (MPF) Scheme for five years from 2021-22 to 2025-26; total outlay: Rs. 26,275 cr
- The government has allowed the State Police Forces Modernization Scheme (MPF scheme) to continue for five years from 2021-22 to 2025-26.
- The total central financial outlay for the five years is Rs. 26,275 crores.
- The scheme is being implemented by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) since 1969-70.

- RBL Bank has partnered with Creditus Solutions for its ‘Neo Collections’ platform.
- Neo Collections Platform is a Do It Yourself (DIY) Debt Management Platform that will help the customers of the Bank to monitor, manage and pay their dues/debts.

- GSL delivers final vessel ‘ICGS Saksham’ under 5 Coast Guard Offshore Patrol Vehicle (CGOPV) Project
- Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) delivered the 5th and final ship of the 5 Coast Guard Offshore Patrol Vehicle (CGOPV) Project to the Indian Coast Guard on 08 February 2022 ahead of the contractual schedule.
- The ship has been named ICGS ‘Saksham’.
- All the 5 ships under the project have been delivered by GSL to the Indian Coast Guard ahead of time.
- A contract worth Rs 20 billion for 5 CGOPVs was signed between GSL and the Ministry of Defense (MoD) on 26 August 2016.
- The other 4 ships under the project are ICGS Sachet, ICGS Sujit, ICGS Sajag and ICGS Sarthak respectively.

- French scientist Luc Montagnier, who won the Nobel Prize for co-discovering the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), the infection that causes AIDS, has died. He was 89 years old.
- The eminent virologist won the 2008 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, which he shared with fellow researcher François Barre-Sinoussi and both shared half of the Nobel Prize with Harald zur Hausen of Germany.
