  • The 118 km long project will reduce the distance between Bengaluru and Mysuru with travel time from about three hours to just 75 minutes.
  • The NH-275 section between Bengaluru, Nidaghatta, and Mysuru will be constructed as six-laning as part of the project, with a total development cost of around Rs 8,480 crore.
  1. PM Modi inaugurates the world’s longest railway platform in Hubballi, Karnataka
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the world’s longest railway platform of 1.5 km at Sri Siddharoda Railway Station in Hubli in the state of Karnataka.
  • The platform was inaugurated during the PM’s visit to Karnataka in the presence of Union Minister Pralhad Joshi.
  • It is to be noted that Indian Railways, South Western Railway Zone Hubli is now registered in the Guinness Book of World Records for the longest platform.
