- The Union Government has proposed to start the world’s longest river cruise between Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh and Dibrugarh in Assam by January 2023. The world’s longest river cruise journey from Kashi in Uttar Pradesh will begin on January 10, 2023.
- The 3200 km journey from Varanasi to Dibrugarh will be covered in about 50 days. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has released the timetable of the Ganga Vilas Cruise from Ravidas Ghat in Varanasi.

- Bhopal Railway Station of Indian Railways has been awarded a 4-star ‘Eat Right Station’ certification for providing high-quality nutritious food to the passengers. This certification is awarded by FSSAI to railway stations that follow standard food storage and hygiene practices.
- The ‘Eat Right Station’ certification is awarded by FSSAI to those railway stations which set a standard in providing safe and nutritious food to passengers. The station has been awarded a certificate on the findings of an FSSAI-empanelled third-party audit agency with a rating ranging from 1 to 5. The 4-star rating reflects full compliance by the station to ensure the availability of safe and hygienic food for passengers.
- Nobel laureate Venky Ramakrishnan honored with Britain’s Royal Order of Merito
- Indian-origin Nobel laureate Professor Venky Ramakrishnan has been awarded the ‘Order of Merit by King Charles III of Britain for his significant contribution to the field of science.
- This award is a special honor given by the King or Queen of Britain. Professor Venky was born in Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu. He was educated in America before going to Britain. In 2009, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
- Kerala Tourism wins “Responsible Tourism Global Award” at World Travel Mart
- Kerala Tourism has won the prestigious Responsible Tourism Global Award at the World Travel Mart held in London. State Tourism Minister PA Mohammad Riyas received the award on behalf of the department in London.
- The award was given for the Street Project implemented by the Mission for Responsible Tourism under the Government of Kerala. The jury made special remarks about the Jal Marg project implemented at Maravanthuruthu in the Kottayam district. The state has won the award for the commendable work it has done to ‘conserve water and improve water security and supply for its neighbors’.
