  1. Parshottam Rupala inaugurates ‘Sagar Parikrama’ initiative from Gujarat
  • Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Shri Purushottam Rupala will inaugurate the ‘Sagar Parikrama’. The ‘Sagar Parikrama’ was organized by the Union Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying as a part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
  • ‘Sagar Parikrama’ will focus on a sustainable balance between the food security of the nation and the livelihoods of coastal fishing communities and the use of marine fishery resources to protect marine ecosystems.
  • It has been launched in Gujarat and is to be conducted in all coastal states/UTs through pre-determined sea route to show solidarity with all fishermen, fish farmers and concerned stakeholders in the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

  • On 5 March 2022, the Indian Navy successfully test-fired the long-range version of the BrahMos cruise missile.

  • The Indian Air Force (IAF) has postponed Exercise Vayu Shakti 2022. Exercise Vayu Shakti 2022 was to be conducted on March 7, 2022 at the Pokhran range of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
  • Vayu Shakti exercise is conducted every three years at Pokhran range to demonstrate its readiness to conduct full spectrum operations.
  • Recently, the Defense Ministry postponed DefExpo 2022 due to logistical issues with the participants.

  1. Coal Ministry will Celebrate “Iconic Week” From 7th March
  • Ministry of Coal is going to organize “Iconic Week” under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The prestigious week will be organized from 7 March 2022 to 11 March 2022.
  • On 7 March 2022, the Minister of State for Coal, Mines and Railways, Shri Raosaheb Patil will inaugurate the prestigious week celebrations at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre.
