  1. WB Report: India became World’s Largest Recipient of Remittances
  • According to the World Bank’s latest report ‘World Bank’s Remittance Value Worldwide Database’, India became the world’s largest recipient of remittances by receiving USD 87 billion in 2021.
  • The United States (US) was its largest source, accounting for over 20% of these funds. India is followed by China, Mexico, Philippines and Egypt. In India, remittances are projected to grow by 3% to USD 89.6 billion in 2022.

  1. PM Modi visits Mahoba and Jhansi district in Uttar Pradesh
