  1. Tamil Nadu CM inaugurated SIPCOT industrial park
  • Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has inaugurated an industrial park at Eraiyur in the Perambalur district of Tamil Nadu. He also laid the foundation stone of Phoenix Kothari Footwear Park.
  • The 243.39-acre park by the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOAT) was inaugurated following an announcement in the 2022-23 budget session that new parks would be set up in Coimbatore, Perambalur, Madurai, Vellore, and Tiruvallur districts.

  1. Yes Bank, Turtlefin Launched Online Insurance Services platform ‘EasyNsure’
  • TurtleFin, India’s leading insuretech platform, has partnered with Yes Bank, one of India’s leading private sector banks, to build eGenSure, a comprehensive technology platform. TurtleFin’s unique API will power the platform to offer a bouquet of holistic insurance solutions on a single platform.
  • EasyInsure is the first-of-its-kind proposition for Yes Bank that will bring together multiple insurance partners on a common platform, providing a host of benefits such as a seamless single-point online insurance service, and the ability to compare and select suitable insurance. Cover based on the need of the customer, as well as the facility to compare costs to rationalize purchase decisions, among others.
  1. YES Bank Acquired a 9.9 percent stake in JC Flower ARC
  • Yes, Bank has signed a share purchase agreement (SPA) with JC Flower Asset Reconstruction Company (ARC) to acquire a 9.9 percent stake in ARC on 28 November 2022 at Rs 11.43 per share. The latter is to acquire an additional shareholding of 10 percent. Subject to necessary regulatory approvals.
  • Yes, Bank’s board has approved the sale of stressed loans worth Rs 48,000 crore to JC Flowers.
  • The Bank intends to participate in ARC as a minority shareholder.
  • It is said that it will be a subsidiary of the bank’s core business.
  • As on 31st March 2022, JC Flowers ARC had Rs 595 crore in assets under management with an annual turnover of Rs 19.9 crore.

  1. NDTV Promoter Firm RRPR Holding Transfers 99.5% Shares to Adani’s VCPL
  • RRPR Holding, the promoter firm of news broadcaster New Delhi Television Limited (NDTV), announced that it has transferred 99.5 percent shares of its equity capital to Adani Group-owned Vishwapradhan Commercial (VCPL). The transfer of shares will give the Adani group a controlling stake of 29.18 percent in NDTV. They are also ready to offer another 26 percent stake in Media Films.
  • Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani has said that the purchase of NDTV was a responsibility rather than a business opportunity.
  • NDTV had said that VCPL has served the notice on the broadcast on the basis of a loan agreement entered into with its founders in 2009-2010.

  1. South Korea’s Mina Sue Choi Crowned Miss Earth 2022
  • South Korea’s Mina Sue Choi was crowned Miss Earth 2022 during the pageant’s coronation night on November 29 at Cove Manila, Okada Hotel, Parañaque City. There were 86 Eco-warriors, and only three queens were awarded the pageant’s three elements titles.
  • Miss Fire 2022 is Andrea Aguilera of Columbia, Miss Water 2022 is Nadeen Ayoub of Palestine, and Miss Air 2022 is Sheridan Mortlock of Australia. During the pre-pageant activities, Choi bagged a few medals too. She won resort wear, long gown, beach wear, and swimsuit competition.
  • This is the 22nd edition of the annual international competition organized by Carousel Production to promote environmental protection. It also sought ambassadors to mount projects that help save the planet.

  1. FIFA World cup 2022: Stephanie Frappart to be 1st woman referee
  • FIFA has announced that Stéphanie Fraupart of France will be the first woman to referee a men’s World Cup match. She will officiate the Group E match between Germany and Costa Rica on 2 December 2022.
  • France’s Frappart is one of three female referees among 36 women selected for the tournament in Qatar, along with Rwandan official Salima Mukansanga and Japan’s Yoshimi Yamashita. Three other women officials have traveled to World Cups as assistant referees.

  1. BSF celebrates its 58th Raising Day on December 01
  • India will celebrate 58th BSF Raising Day (December 1) in 2022. This is the first time that the Raising Day Parade of India’s first line of defense is being held in Punjab and for the second time outside the national capital.
  • The 58th Raising Day parade of the Border Security Force (BSF) will be held on December 4 at the Guru Nanak Dev University campus.
  • Formed in 1965, the primary role of BSF lies in securing India’s borders shared with Bangladesh and Pakistan. The Border Security Force (BSF) comprises Indian armed personnel dedicated to protecting the sovereignty and integrity of the India-Bangladesh and India-Pakistan borders.
  1. International Jaguar Day 2022: 29 November
  • International Jaguar Day was created to raise awareness about the increasing threats facing the jaguar and the critical conservation efforts ensuring its survival.
  • Observed annually on November 29, International Jaguar Day celebrates the Americas’ largest wild cat as an umbrella species for biodiversity conservation and an icon for sustainable development and the centuries-old cultural heritage of Central and South America. This is the third largest Cat Predator in the World and an important species of the Amazon Rainforest.
  • In March 2018 representatives from 14 range countries gathered in New York at United Nations Headquarters for the Jaguar 2030 Forum. This Forum resulted in the creation of the Jaguar 2030 Statement which outlined a wide range of internationally collaborative jaguar conservation initiatives, including the proposal to create an International Jaguar Day.

  • Every year on 1 December the world observes World AIDS Day.   1. Former President of China Jiang Zemin Passes Away
  • Jiang Zemin, former President of China who presided over more than a decade of economic growth after the 1989 Tiananmen crackdown against pro-democracy protesters, passed away at the age of 96 in Shanghai, China. He died from leukemia and multiple organ failure. Jiang Zemin was born in 1926 in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province, China.
  • After the 1989 Tiananmen crackdown, Jiang Zemin governed the Communist Party’s divisions while leading China through history-making changes.
  • Market-oriented reforms were revived, Hong Kong gained independence from the British in 1997, and Beijing joined the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2001. He helped pull in foreign investment after China joined the WTO. Jiang Zemin served as the head of the Communist Party from 1989 to 2002.

  1. 100 National Monuments illuminated to mark India’s Assumption of G -20 Presidency
  • India will formally assume the presidency of the G-20 on 1 December 2022. Several events are to take place across the country to mark the occasion, including the lighting of 100 monuments with the G-20 logo.
  • The theme of India’s G-20 Presidency is Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam of One Earth One Family One Future. The theme affirms the value of life – human, animal, plant, and micro-organism and their interconnectedness on planet Earth and in the wider universe.
  1. “World’s 1st Hydrogen-Run” Aircraft Engine Tested by EasyJet, Rolls-Royce
  • Airline EasyJet and aircraft engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce announced that they have successfully tested a hydrogen-powered aircraft engine, described as the world’s first engine for aviation. They set a new aviation milestone earlier this month with the world’s first run of a modern aero engine on hydrogen in a ground test.
  • The company tested a turboprop fan engine that is used in small regional flying aircraft.
  • The green hydrogen for the tests was generated off Scotland’s Orkney Islands using tidal and wind power.
  • Rolls-Royce is hoping to finally conduct full-scale ground tests of the Pearl 15 jet engine.
