  • France recently successfully launched a military communications satellite, Syracuse 4A, into orbit from Kourou in French Guiana.

  • A new Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) ‘Sarthak’ has been dedicated to the nation on October 28, 2021. It will be based in Porbandar, Gujarat.
  • The indigenously built ship was commissioned by Indian Coast Guard Director General K Natarajan in Goa.
  • ICGS Sarthak is the fourth in a series of five Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs) being built for ICG by Goa Shipyard Limited to boost India’s maritime safety and security.

  • TVS Motor Company has been awarded ‘Outstanding Renewable Energy User’ by the Indian Federation of Green Energy (IFGE) at the 3rd edition of India Green Energy Awards 2020.
  • The award was presented by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari. IFGE has recognized TVS Motor’s efforts in researching and implementing the use of alternative energy sources in the renewable energy sector, while ensuring their longevity and sustainability.

  1. Ryan ten Dochet of the Netherlands retires from international cricket
  • Netherlands cricket all-rounder Ryan ten Doeschate announced his retirement from international cricket after failing to qualify for the Super 12 stage of the International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 World Cup.
  • During the qualifiers, the Netherlands lost to Namibia and failed to enter the Super 12 stage, which was Dochet’s last international match. Ryan ten Dochet has amassed 2074 runs in 57 International Test matches, 1541 runs in 33 One Day Internationals and 533 runs in 24 T20 Internationals since his debut in 2006.
