  1. India-Bangladesh Ties, A Model For Bilateral Relation
  • Since the liberation war in 1971, Bangladesh and India have shared a special relationship not only because of their geographical boundaries, but largely because of their shared cultural, linguistic, and historical ties.
  • India provided necessary humanitarian and military assistance during the war for the liberation of the Bangladeshi nation, which was much needed at that time. Since then the two countries have shared a vast border of 4000 km which makes Bangladesh India’s longest land-sharing neighbor in the South Asian region.
  1. U.S. Marks The 21st Anniversary Of 9/11 Horrific Incident
  • Americans remember 21 years after 9/11, the deadliest terror attack on American soil, on September 11 with names of victims, volunteer work, and other tributes. A tolling bell and a moment of silence began at Ground Zero in New York, where the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center were destroyed by the hijacked-plane attacks of September 11, 2001.
  • Relatives and dignitaries of the victims also convened at two other attack sites, the Pentagon and an area in Pennsylvania. Other communities across the country are marking the day with candlelight lighting, interfaith services and other commemorations. Some Americans are getting involved in volunteer projects on a day that is federally recognized as both Patriots Day and National Service and Remembrance Day.

  1. Meghalaya CM launches ‘Residents Safety & Security’ portal 
  • Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma launched an online portal of the Meghalaya Residents Safety and Security Act (MRSSA) in the presence of Home Minister Lakhmen Rymbui and other eminent officials in Shillong.
  • The online portal will provide a digital platform to ensure the safety and security of the residents and act as a strong intelligence gathering system for authorities.
  • The online portal will be beneficial for monitoring and better implementation of services and programs introduced by the government.
  • The portal will assist in the health care sector and critical areas.
  • This digital platform has the capability of connecting more than 6000 villages in the state through the online system.
  • This web-based online portal is first being rolled out in seven localities of Shillong-Nongrim Hills, Lapanlang, Nongmynsong, Nongrah, Pohkseh, Riat Laban, and Wahdienglieng.

  1. HPCL collaborates with Indian Army for CSR Project 
  • Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and the Indian Army have collaborated to implement a CSR project to train and mentor less privileged girl students in Kargil. The project is known as ‘Kargil Ignited Minds’, and the project aims to prepare 50 girl students for various national-level engineering and medical entrance examinations.
  • The Kargil Ignited Minds project will focus on empowering underprivileged girls with limited resources and living in extreme weather conditions.
  • To be a part of the Kargil Ignited Minds project, students have to go through a series of processes including screening, preliminary tests, and interviews.

  • Sri Lanka won against Pakistan by 23 runs. Sri Lanka all out Pakistan. Pakistan won the toss and decided to bowl first. Sri Lanka scored 170 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs.

  • The United Nations Day for South-South Cooperation is observed annually on 12 September to highlight the importance of cooperation between peoples and countries in the Global South.

  • Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a serious genetic, hormone, metabolic and reproductive disorder that affects women and girls. It is the leading cause of female infertility and a precursor to other serious conditions, including obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease and endometrial cancer.
  1. National Forest Martyrs Day 2022 observed on 11th September
  • National Forest Martyrs Day is observed on September 11 to pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives to protect forests and wildlife.
  • The observance of the National Forest Martyrs is marked by several events aimed at creating awareness about protecting forests and the environment at large.   • World First Aid Day is celebrated every year on the second Saturday of September. This year, World First Aid Day 2022 falls on 10 September 2022.
  • The day is recognized worldwide to promote the significance of first aid, which is an important fundamental skill, and to create awareness on a global level about how it can save precious lives. The day was introduced first by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
  • According to the IFRC, with this year’s theme, ‘Lifelong First Aid’, we are putting forward the importance of having lifelong first aid learning.
  • World First Aid Day’s history dates back to the battle of Solferino in 1859 in which a young businessman, Henry Dunant, from Geneva was horrified and shocked by the mass massacre of people. He helped many severely injured people. This incident inspired him so much that he wrote a book titled as ‘A Memory of Solferino’.

  1. Chief Justice of India with the shortest tenure, Kamal Narain Singh passes away
  • Former Chief Justice of India Kamal Narayan Singh passed away at the age of 95. Justice Narayan had a tenure of only 17 days as CJI, making him the Chief Justice with the shortest tenure. He was the 22nd Chief Justice of India, serving from 25 November 1991 to 12 December 1991.
  • Born on December 13, 1926, his career as a judge began with his appointment as an additional judge of the Allahabad High Court in 1970. He then became a permanent judge in August 1972. He was elevated as a Supreme Court judge in 1986 and, about five years later, became the CJI.
