  1. Kerala Becomes First State To Introduce Carbon-Neutral Farming
  • Kerala is set to become the first country in the country to start carbon-neutral farming for better soil health.
  • For this, about one crore rupees has been set aside by the state government. 6 crore has been given in the budget of 2022-23.
  • In the first phase carbon-neutral farming will be implemented in 13 farms in agriculture department and tribal areas and steps are being taken to convert state seed farm into carbon-neutral farm at Aluva. In the second phase, model carbon neutral farms are to be developed in all 140 assembly constituencies.
  1. Ministry of Jal Shakti launches Sujlam 2.0 Campaign
  • Ministry of Jal Shakti has launched Sujalam 2.0 campaign for greywater management on the occasion of World Water Day which is observed on 22nd March. It was launched by the Union Minister of Jal Shakti, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in the morning.
  • This year’s theme for the Sujalam 2.0 campaign is ‘Groundwater: Making the Invisible Visible’.
  • The main objective of Sujalam 2.0 is to manage greywater through people’s participation. Under the campaign, we are planning to mobilize and mobilize communities and our institutions like Panchayats, Schools, Anganwadis for greywater management.
