India’s First Vaccine Against Cervical Cancer Launched

India is all set to launch its first indigenously developed quadrivalent Human Papillomavirus Vaccine (qHPV) against cervical cancer with the help of the Serum Institute of India (SII) and the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) on 1st September 2022.
The vaccine for cervical cancer “CERVAVAC” will be launched by Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for Science and Technology. The vaccine is likely to cost around 200-400 per dose.
According to government data, cervical cancer is the second most prevalent cancer in India and accounts for a quarter of the world’s cervical cancer deaths.

Nuakhai Festival Being Celebrated in Western Odisha

Nuakhai is an annual harvest festival in Odisha. Nuakhai is celebrated to welcome the new season to come and to welcome the new rice of the season. Nuakhai is celebrated a day after Ganesh Chaturthi and is one of the most awaited festivals in Odisha.
The festival is celebrated with an offering of Nabanna to Goddess Samaleswari during a particular time. Nuakhai is made up of two words, Nua meaning new and Khai meaning food.
The festival is meant solely to celebrate the new rice of the season, harvested by hardworking farmers. People in the western part of Odisha celebrate Nuakhai with zeal and enthusiasm.

Alappuzha Declared as the Fifth Full Digital Banking District

Alappuzha has become the fifth fully digital banking district in the state. An announcement in this regard was made by Thomas Mathew, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India Kerala, and Lakshadweep.
At least one digital transaction facility, such as a debit card, is part of the initiative. Internet banking, mobile banking, a unified payment interface, and many other facilities have enabled 26 lakh savings or current bank accounts in 29 banks in the districts.

Indian credit card issuer SBI Card has announced the launch of a ‘Cashback SBI Card’ in India. As the company claims, Cashback SBI Card is the industry’s first cashback-centric credit card that enables cardholders to earn 5 percent cashback on all online spending without any merchant restrictions.
Consumers across India including Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities can avail of instant cashback SBI Card through the digital application platform ‘SBI Card Sprint’.

FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup: VAR technology to make debut in India

The video assistant referee (VAR) technology will make its debut in the age-group showpiece at the upcoming Under-17 Women’s World Cup 2022 in India, the world football governing body FIFA announced.
The prestigious tournament, which was given a go-ahead by FIFA after the lifting of the 11-day long suspension of the All India Football Federation (AIFF), will be held in Bhubaneswar (Kalinga Stadium), Margao (JLN Stadium), and Navi Mumbai. (DY Patil Stadium) from 11-30 October.

World Coconut Day is celebrated on 2nd September every year. The day is observed to emphasize and spread knowledge of the value and advantages of coconuts. The coconut palm is often called the ‘tree of life’ owing to its versatile use in food, fuel, medicine, cosmetics, building materials, and various other uses.
The International Coconut Community selects the World Coconut Day themes. The World Coconut Day theme for this year is “Growing Coconut for a Better Future and Life”.
The Asia Pacific Coconut Community(APCC) was established on 2nd September 1969. In 2009 Asia Pacific Coconut Community announced that the first world coconut day was celebrated on September 2, 2009, by the Asia Pacific Coconut Community (APCC).

Kartik Aaryan-starrer ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ is getting a comic book adaptation

The Kartik Aaryan-starrer “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2” will be adapted into a comic book series. Production house T-Series and Cine1Studios have joined hands with Diamond Comics, India’s reputed comic book distributor and publisher to bring ‘Rooh Baba Ki Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ based on Aryan’s character to the young audience.
The main scene of the comic book features Kartik Aaryan as Rooh Baba. The poster also features iconic characters from Diamond Comics. Shaktimaan and Chacha Chaudhary can be seen to the left of Rooh Baba, while on the right, Sabu is also featured on the comic book cover. Motu and Patlu are also featured in the main scene.
