- Vice President presents International Gandhi Award for Leprosy, 2021
- The Vice President of India is Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, who conferred the International Gandhi Award for Leprosy, 2021 to Dr. Bhushan Kumar of Chandigarh under the Indian Nomination (Individual) category and Sahyog Kushtha Yagya Trust, Gujarat under the Institutional Category.
- The International Gandhi Award was presented by the Vice President during a function held in New Delhi on April 13, 2022.
- The annual International Gandhi Award has been instituted by the Gandhi Memorial Leprosy Foundation to recognize the work of individuals and organizations who have worked tirelessly and selflessly to fight the disease and the prejudices associated with it.
- The award is a symbol of the memory of Gandhiji’s compassion and service rendered by him to the people suffering from leprosy.
- PM Modi inaugurates Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya at Teen Murti Complex in New Delhi
- The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, on April 14, 2022, on the occasion of the 132nd birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, inaugurated the Prime Minister’s Museum, along with the announcement of celebrating the Amrit Mahotsav celebrations of independence.
- Before the inauguration of the Prime Minister’s Museum, PM Shri Narendra Modi had also bought the first ticket for the museum.
- The museum dedicates a tribute to each of the 14 Prime Ministers of India, irrespective of their ideology or tenure, since independence.
- The Prime Minister’s Museum is built in the Teen Murti complex in New Delhi and has also integrated the erstwhile Nehru Museum (now designated as Block I) with the newly constructed building (designated as Block II).
- The Prime Minister’s Museum has employed state-of-the-art technology-based interfaces to incorporate diversity in content and frequent rotation of exhibits.
- The Prime Minister’s Museum, built at a cost of Rs 271 crore, has a total area of more than 15,600 square meters in two blocks.
