Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurates two-day scientific convention on ‘Homoeopathy: People’s Choice for Wellness’ in New Delhi

The Union Minister of AYUSH, Sarbananda Sonowal, inaugurated a two-day scientific conference on the topic ‘Homeopathy: People’s Choice for Wellness’ in New Delhi on April 09, 2022.
To mark the auspicious occasion of World Homeopathy Day, the conference has been jointly organized by the three apex bodies under the Ministry of AYUSH namely Central Council for Research in Homeopathy, National Commission for Homeopathy and National Institute of Homeopathy.
This conference provides an opportunity to review the achievements in the field of Homeopathy and formulate the future strategy for the development of Homeopathy.

Union Minister Bhupender Yadav Chairs 20th NTCA Meeting at Pakke Tiger Reserve in Arunachal Pradesh

The 20th meeting of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) was held on April 09, 2022 at Pakke Tiger Reserve in Arunachal Pradesh.
The 20th meeting was presided over by the Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Bhupendra Yadav.
For the first time in history, the NTCA meeting was held outside the national capital.
The Union Minister had given strict instructions that these meetings would be held outside Delhi in forest areas or in tiger reserves to get first hand information about reserves, local issues etc.

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu confers Sangeet Natak Akademi and Lalit Kala Akademi Fellowships and Awards

The Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu presented the Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowship and Sangeet Natak Puraskar for the year 2018 to 43 eminent artists (4 fellows and 40 awardees) for their commendable arts.
Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu also presented the Lalit Kala Akademi Fellowship and National Awards for the year 2021 to 23 people (3 Fellows and 20 National Awards) for their commendable arts.
The awards were presented during the 62nd National Art Exhibition organized by Lalit Kala Akademi and well inaugurated by the Minister of Culture, Shri G Kishan Reddy on 09 April 2022 in New Delhi.

RBI releases Guidelines on Establishment of Digital Banking Units (DBUs)

In the Union Budget year 2022-23, the Government of India announced the establishment of 75 Digital Banking Units (DBUs) in 75 districts to commemorate 75 years of Independence (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav) of our country.
To achieve this objective, the Reserve Bank of India has issued guidelines on setting up of Digital Banking Units (DBUs) with strict instructions to be followed.
Digital Banking Unit (DBU): It is a specialized fixed point business unit in both self-service and support mode to distribute and disseminate digital banking products and services as well as provide or service existing financial products and services digitally. /Hub will be housing. This would be a minimum of 4 hours per day at least five days a week.

India wins first-ever gold medal at WSF World Doubles Squash championships

The second seeded Indian pair of Dipika Pallikal Karthik and Saurav Ghosal made their way to glory by winning the mixed doubles title at the 2022 WSF World Doubles Squash Championships in Glasglow on April 09, 2022.
The Indian pair defeated the fourth seeded pair of Adrian Waller and Alison Waters of England 11-6, 11-8 in the mixed doubles final to clinch the win.
Apart from this, Deepika and Joshna Chinappa have spread their name in the world by winning 11-9, 4-11, 11-8 in the women’s doubles final by defeating Sarah Jane Perry and Waters of England.
Meanwhile, England’s Declan James and James Willstrop defeated Scotland’s Greg Lobban and Rory Stewart 11–10 to win and 11–6, to win the men’s doubles final.
This is India’s first gold medal at the WSF World Doubles Squash Championship, a medal the country had never won before.
