The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh is YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who inaugurated 13 more new districts in the state on April 04, 2022.
The new districts have been carved out of the existing 13 districts and made up of different taxes.
With this, the total number of districts in the state of Andhra Pradesh has increased to 26.

  • Indian spacetech startup Pixxel headquartered in Bengaluru launched its first commercial satellite named ‘Shakuntala’ in April 2022.
  • The full-fledged commercial satellite was said to have been launched on SpaceX’s Falcon-9 rocket powered by Elon Musk from Cape Canaveral in the US country.
  • The launch took place under SpaceX’s Transporter-4 mission.
  • The ‘Shakuntala’ satellite is a type of low-orbit imaging satellite, fitted with one of the highest-resolution hyperspectral commercial cameras ever flown in space.
  • It is supposed to help track Earth’s invisible changes such as deforestation, natural gas leaks, pollution, decline in crop health, melting of ice, and all other data important for climate change assessment.
