- US and Philippines military begins their largest combat drills ‘Balikatan 2022’
- The United States Army and the Philippines Army began or may be called the military exercise ‘Balikatan 2022’ on March 28, 2022.
- The Philippine-led annual exercise is expected to take place in Luzon, Philippines region near Taiwan from March 28 to April 8, 2022.
- About 8,900 Filipino and American soldiers are participating in the military exercise, making it the largest Balikatan military exercise ever.
National News
- India’s first ‘steel road’ built in Diamond City of India ‘Surat’
- India’s first of its kind road made from steel waste has been built at Hazira Industrial Area in Surat city of Gujarat, which is a very good achievement in itself.
- The road has been built by ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India in collaboration with CSIR India (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research), CRRI (Central Road Research Institute) and NITI Aayog, or rather with their help.
- The new pilot road project is said to be 6-lane and 1 kilometer long. It consists of 100% processed steel slag.
- DRDO successfully test-flights Indian Army version of Medium Range Surface to Air Missile (MRSAM) off Odisha coast
- The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) conducted two successful flight tests of the Indian Army version of the Medium Range Surface-to-Air Missile (MRSAM) against high–speed air targets at the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur on March 27, 2022. Done in Orissa.
- The first test launch was to intercept a medium altitude long range target and the second launch was to intercept a low altitude short range target.
- The Indian Army variant of MRSAM is a surface-to-air missile jointly developed by DRDO and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), Israel.

- Shaktikanta Das lays Foundation Stone of Learning and Development Centre (LDC) of BRBNMPL in Mysuru
- Shri Shaktikanta Das who is the Governor of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has laid the foundation stone for setting up of Learning and Development Center (LDC) of Reserve Bank of India Note Mudran Private Limited (BRBNMPL) in Mysore.
- Reserve Bank of India Note Mudran Private Limited (BRBNMPL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of RBI.

- Pramod Sawant takes oath as Chief Minister of Goa for 2nd consecutive term
- Pramod Sawant took oath as the Chief Minister of Goa on March 28, 2022 for the second five consecutive years of his tenure.
- Pramod Sawant led the BJP in the recently concluded 2022 Goa Assembly elections as well as winning 20 seats in the 40-member Goa Legislative Assembly.
- Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai asked Mr. Sawant to take oath at the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee Stadium near Panaji.
